Vernon overview
Vernon is located in the Okanagan, north of Kelowna on Highway 97. Vernon is surrounded by Okanagan Lake, Kalamalka Lake, and Swan Lake. Like the rest of the Okanagan, Vernon is abundant with outdoor activities like hiking, beaches, boating and water sports, and campgrounds. Some of the main outdoor adventure attractions include; Kalamaka Provincial Park, Middleton Mountain, Silver Star Ski Resort, and the Okanagan trail which can be walked or biked. There are a variety of places to rent kayaks and paddleboards, so you can get out and explore the waters as well.
Vernon is also an Arts and Culture hub in BC featuring museums, art galleries, and wine vineyards to tour and taste. You can also spend a spa day at the Sparkling Hill Resort and get a massage overlooking Okanagan Lake.
